What is the difference between primary-processed wood shavings and secondary-processed wood shavings?
Primary-processed wood comes directly from processing the raw material of untouched wood. For example, wood from mills whose principal activity is to manufacture lumber from raw wood, is called “primary wood.” This is exclusively the case for our wood shavings. Some suppliers will manufacture their shavings from previously processed wood products, known as “secondary-processed wood” or “secondary processing”, such as mouldings, treated lumber and flooring. These processed wood by-products may contain adhesives, varnishes and other chemicals harmful to your animals’ health.
